Study: Current regulations in times of coronavirus

Digital teaching from 01.12.2020 (to 20.12.2020 for the time being)

The University of Bayreuth is switching back to digital teaching: Universities throughout Germany are now required to switch back to digital teaching from 01.12.2020 to 20.12.2020 for the time being. As was the case last semester, exceptions will be made for laboratory work, internships, examinations, practical (including sports) training, and artistic training phases. These may continue to be held in-person under the conditions with which you are already familiar.

  • Compulsory wearing of face masks still applies: Everywhere on the premises of the University of Bayreuth (including its branch offices) it is compulsory for everyone to wear a simple face mask at all times, unless you are in an office alone.
  • The Frischraum will remain open until 22.12.2020 with its existing range of food. The canteens (cafeteria and NW III) will remain open according to demand.
  • The libraries will remain open.
  • The recreation areas and Cip-Pools are still available for use under coronavirus safety conditions.

Use of recreation areas and study places

The University of Bayreuth is still providing seating in smaller seminar rooms, distributed over the campus, and in the circulation areas or foyers (in the Audimax, RW I, and NW III) suitable for this purpose. These spaces can be used individually as a place to study while maintaining physical distancing and wearing face masks. Please note the maximum possible number of users for the respective room, and the guidance provided on ventilation and the keeping of contact details.

In particular, the following provisions apply

Dates

  • The start of lectures for Winter Semester 2020/21 is to be postponed from 12 October to 2 November, 2020.
  • The end of lectures will move from 5 February to 12 February, 2021.
