Our innovation architecture

The University of Bayreuth is an active driver of the regional innovation ecosystem. It
maintains close ties with other universities in Upper Franconia, including the University
of Bamberg and the two universities of applied sciences in Coburg and Hof, regional
research centers, startup and innovation centers, Upper Franconian chambers of
commerce, associations, startups, and established companies. A well-functioning
network has been established throughout Upper Franconia, in which numerous
stakeholders interact and benefit from one another.

The innovation ecosystem has been further enhanced in recent decades, partly through
significant investments in science, research, and transfer infrastructure. Important
research and transfer institutions have been established both on the campus itself and
in the immediate vicinity of the University of Bayreuth (including Fraunhofer Centers and
Neue Materialien Bayreuth GmbH), and these are actively sought after as cooperation
partners by Upper Franconian companies.

Today, startups and established companies are part of a central, closely connected
hub/network of actors, all of whom make a positive contribution to increasing
entrepreneurial and regional innovation with specific knowledge and skills.

Become part of our innovation ecosystem

As an active partner in the innovation ecosystem, you can benefit from numerous
advantages. Advantages that significantly influence the future viability and innovation
capabilities of companies and institutions today.
