The University of Bayreuth helps

The University of Bayreuth is dismayed by the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine, which violates international law, and offers concrete support to students and researchers. Various offers and initiatives are listed on this website. (as of 07.03.2022)

Our commitment to refugee scientists and students

Refugee scientists and students can find important information and a first point of contact on our "Refugees Welcome" website.

With the Bayreuth Bridge for Science, the University of Bayreuth has established its own funding programme for refugee scientists from Ukraine.

Research group chairs at the University of Bayreuth who can act as hosts for refugee academics should contact the Research Funding Office of the University of Bayreuth: forschungsfoerderung@uni-bayreuth.de.  Here you can find a list of funding options for academics and students who are refugees or have fled the Ukraine.

Faculty members of the University of Bayreuth who are able to act as hosts for refugee scientists should contact the Research Funding Office of the University of Bayreuth: forschungsfoerderung@uni-bayreuth.de.

Please also see the European Commission's page that provides the portal "European Research Area for Ukraine" (ERA4Ukraine) as a one-stop shop for information and support services for researchers residing in Ukraine and refugees from Ukraine.
