The campus of the University of Bayreuth is located on the south end of town, just 900 metres from the interchange to motorway “A9” (exit 'Bayreuth-Süd'). Signs labelled “UNIVERSITÄT” will direct you to the campus when driving from the motorway or from downtown.

The environmental protection information centre 'Lindenhof' (Karolinenreutherstr. 58) is also located in the vicinity.
