Sport Management, Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Profile

Over four semesters, the MBA Sport Management programme teaches business administration in sport, sports law, and sports management on a scientifically sound basis and with the involvement of top-class lecturers from research and practice. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sport Management offers study content that is not limited to individual sports, and is above all application-oriented. Critical thinking is required and participants focus on the areas of sport that interest them personally. Instead of sitting exams, they conduct project work on individual topics that will help them professionally. The aim is for students to be able to successfully apply the knowledge they have acquired and their own research results in professional practice.

In designing its curriculum, the MBA Sport Management programme builds on the unique and proven concept of Bayreuth Sport Economics, which has been the benchmark for studies in the field of sports management since 1985. We emphasise interdisciplinarity and internationality, our pioneering reputation and innovative ability, and live according to a distinctive cooperative and networking ideal which is firmly rooted in 'Bayreuth sports economists'.

Design and content

The curriculum of the MBA Sport Management comprises a total of 90 ECTS points. These are divided into the following modules and associated courses:

About Campus Academy

As an independent organisational unit, Campus Academy is responsible for the University of Bayreuth's continuing education programmes. • in the field of sporting goods manufacturing and in the sporting goods trade
• in sports services, e.g. in the fitness, rehabilitation and wellness sector
• in sport-related offices and state agencies such as the branches of the German Olympic Sports Confederation
• Marketing and consulting agencies in sport
• at sponsoring agencies that not only market sportspeople, but also look after them or with companies that engage in sports sponsorship
• as a lecturer in vocational education and training
• as a doctoral student (in-house or external)
