Computer Science, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
The “Computer Science” programme at the University of Bayreuth imparts basic competencies in practical as well as theoretical computer science on a broad front, and culminates in the awarding of a qualifying Bachelor of Science. It is therefore necessary for it not only to impart contemporary content to students, but also theoretically substantiated concepts and methods that will stand the test of time. These include analysis, design, implementation and project management skills, technological skills, and interdisciplinary, methodological and social skills. In addition, the University of Bayreuth offers various master's programmes in the field of computer science, in which the knowledge and skills acquired in the bachelor's programme can be expanded and developed.
I started studying Computer Science last year and have been overwhelmed by the scope of the subject. The learning content relates to basic knowledge from my school days, but also provides new insights that require a lot of study to learn thoroughly, and to progress. My electives relate to future-oriented perspectives such as Artificial Intelligence, however I also have the option to consider other subjects such as Law. I recommend studying in Bayreuth to all IT enthusiasts.
