Digitalization & Entrepreneurship, Master of Science (M.Sc.)

Our society is undergoing a digital transformation. Driven by technical innovations, life is changing rapidly and the economy is facing enormous challenges. Disruptive business models are conquering the markets and increasing the pressure on established companies to adapt. Emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things mark this paradigm shift in digitalization. It is an exciting development that needs one thing above all: People who see this change as an opportunity, and are eager to shape the digital future using the right tools. They include specialists and managers who can contribute their know-how to drive the transformation process in companies and enrich the start-up scene with digital solutions and innovative business models.

This is exactly where the Master's programme in Digitalization & Entrepreneurship (D&E) at the University of Bayreuth comes in, a degree which is unique in the German-speaking world. With the help of relevant scientific and practical methods and their targeted application, the degree programme prepares you to create your own digital solutions. You will have the opportunity to examine the issues of digital transformation, innovation and business start-ups from different perspectives - up close and personal in practice-relevant projects - and to link theoretical and methodological approaches with each other, while continually reflecting on and evaluating them. In this way, you will be able to carry out and manage digital projects in established companies, use your knowledge to design innovative start-ups, or get involved in digital research.

This degree programme is taught in German.

Good knowledge of German is an essential prerequisite to successfully completing the degree programme. Proof of German language proficiency at C1 level or equivalent is required for admission. For detailed information, please see the German version of the study programme site.
