Our Internationalization Strategy

The University of Bayreuth has been working intensively with universities in Australia for several years. The focus is on Melbourne, but there are also cooperations with Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, and Perth. The focus is on student and teacher mobility and research cooperation.

Our good cooperation with Chinese partner universities has its origins back in the 1980s. In the meantime, our lively exchange has developed into significant academic cooperation in various disciplines, and a well-established network of individual research contacts.

The University established a Gateway office in Bordeaux in July 2020. This gives the University of Bayreuth a presence at a major research hub that stands to become heavily involved in scientific cooperation with partners in Southern Europe, the Mediterranean region, and North Africa. Institutional partners of the Office are three higher education and research institutions in Bordeaux.
