FAQs and Contacts
Pupils often have the same questions and problems. Maybe your question has already been answered here...
Pupil students are enrolled as guest students and are therefore not entitled to participate in language courses, with the exception of participants in Universitäre Oberstufe. However, you can contact the lecturer and ask whether a place is still available. If so, there is nothing to prevent you from attending.
Here too, guest students must give priority to regular students. If there are still free places, you are welcome to apply for them. In any case, permission from the lecturer is absolutely necessary. Your school and your legal guardians must also agree to your participation in the internship. You can find the required consent form here:
Unfortunately, no. Since early students are enrolled at most as "guest students", they do not receive a semester ticket.
Yes, it is possible and regularly done. According to the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs on early study: "The school management is responsible for the selection [...] of a teacher who will supervise [suitable] pupils and, if necessary, assess their examinations taken at the university for placement at school."
All certificates of achievement acquired at the university must be assessed by a suitably qualified teacher; only this assessment of achievement can be taken into account in the school setting. If you wish to receive credit for your results, you can show your certificate ("Schein") to your teacher at school. We recommend that you always show your certificate - even if your performance in the exams at university is inferior. Because of the higher performance level at university, a "worse" performance at university can of course still be a "better" performance at school.
During Unitag, it may also be possible to attend other courses than those listed. Lectures can usually be changed easily, (pro-)seminars, however, only after consultation with the lecturer. Please contact your contact for Unitag.
Unfortunately not! According to § 16 para. 5 of the matriculation statutes, you must be enrolled at the University of Bayreuth in order to be allowed to take exams. Since you are not additionally enrolled by taking part in the Unitag, you are not allowed to take part in exams. If you would like to do so, we recommend that you enrol as a student. You can find the application here:
Cancellation is no problem at all for both the Unitag or the Pupil Study Programme. We just ask you to inform the relevant contact in good time. You can also cancel your Early Studies during the semester.
Lectures sometimes start a quarter of an hour later than indicated in the course catalogue. Pay attention to the abbreviations: s.t. (sine tempore) means that the lecture starts on time, c.t. (cum tempore) means that it starts a quarter of an hour later than stated.
Especially at the beginning and end of a semester, the odd lecture may not take place. If in doubt, always contact the lecturer or log into the E-Learning Portal of the University of Bayreuth.
Logging into the e-learning portal is only possible with a student ID card (bt identification is required); i.e. pupil students can participate in the e-learning programme, but Unitag students cannot. However, many lecturers are happy to make their documents available if you ask them to do so.
Yes. A kick-off event for early students is always offered shortly before the start of the semester. The date will be announced in good time. Further information can be found on the page "Pupil Study Programme".
Unitag
Unitag is a programme of the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs and the Ministerialbeauftragter für die Gymnasien in Oberfranken. Its aim is to give students the opportunity to get to know different courses of study and to get a taste of many different areas. In contrast to the Pupil Study Programme, however, you are not enrolled as a student, which means that you are not allowed to do certain things or have no access to certain things (e.g. no participation in exams, no student ID, no access to the e-learning portal).
Pupil Study Programme
The Pupil Study Programme is primarily intended for students who already know what they want to do, and wish to take a closer look at a degree programme. They are enrolled as students with guest auditor status and - with a few exceptions - have full access to the infrastructure of the University of Bayreuth.
Universitäre Oberstufe
The Universitäre Oberstufe (University Advanced School) is a special programme of Markgräfin-Wilhelmine-Gymnasium Bayreuth, in which pupils’ scientific and project seminars are replaced by an early study programme. However, only students of MWG Bayreuth may participate in this programme.
Participants in the Unitag will be reimbursed for travel costs by the Ministerialbeauftragte’s office, and under certain conditions, pupil students can apply for a travel allowance, which is provided by Univerein Bayreuth. You can find applications here:
