Geography: Society and Environment, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

The bachelor's programme "Geography" comprises both the scientific methods of geography and specialist knowledge in a large number of geographical sub-disciplines. The broad curriculum enables students to solve spatial problems independently, and to adapt to the changing requirements of their future occupational fields.
Platzhalterbild Person
A very versatile and broad course of study that teaches comprehensive skills and enables students to combine geography with other scientific disciplines. The lecturers play a major role in this with their approachable and open-minded manner. There are also many conversations outside of lectures and it feels very familiar within the faculty. In addition, the field exercises (excursions) are a lot of fun and provide a change from theory as well as the opportunity to apply it in the field. The quality of the lecturers should also be emphasized. The structure of the course is also logical, coherent and very well thought out. At the beginning, students are given an insight into both sub-disciplines (human and physical geography) and later have the opportunity to specialize in one of the two. This again promotes the interdisciplinary understanding that this degree course aims to create.
