Full Professor of Software Engineering (m/f/d)
at salary grade W3 to commence at the earliest opportunity. This is a permanent civil service position.
The successful candidate will represent research and teaching in the field of software engineering. The appointment is intended to further strengthen cooperation in research and teaching within computer science and with other disciplines.
We are looking for an internationally renowned scholar who can complement the existing expertise in computer science with their own independent research and teaching profile. The ability and willingness to acquire external funding must be demonstrated. The candidate must have a proven record in research and teaching in the field of software engineering.
The successful applicant will be involved in teaching undergraduate and cooperative computer science courses. The professorship is intended to focus on courses in the field of software engineering. An active contribution to academic self-governance is expected.
The ability to teach in German and English is required.
In addition to the general legal requirements, prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree, proven excellence in teaching, and a post-doctoral qualification to teach at a professorial level (Habilitation). Alternatively, evidence of equivalent scholarly achievement, for example as a junior professor or in a non-university environment, will also be considered. Only applicants who are 51 years of age or younger can be hired as civil servants. Exceptions will only be made if there are urgent reasons for doing so (Art. 60 para 3 BayHIG).
