Philipp Niemann, born in 1981, holds a doctorate in media studies and studied political and media science at the University of Trier and international journalism at Hamline University Saint Paul, Minnesota. He worked as a junior research group leader in the Science Communication Department at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and previously as a research assistant at the University of Trier. His research focus in the field of Science Communication is qualitative reception research. Niemann has been Scientific Director of the National Institute for Science Communication since January 2019.
