Opening of the Research Center for AI in Science & Society at the University of Bayreuth

The Research Center for AI in Science & Society, founded in July, will open on November 8, 2024. The central platform for sharing AI expertise at UBT connects researchers, developers and users of AI methods across all faculties. The public is cordially invited.

At RAIS2, experts from different faculties and disciplines will discuss the current social, economic, ecological and technological challenges and opportunities presented by AI.

Date/time/location: 08 November 2024, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., H24 RW I, University of Bayreuth

Program: A short presentation of the RAIS2, followed by a lecture by Prof. Dr. Albrecht Schmidt, holder of the Chair of Human-Centered Ubiquitous Media at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, on the topic “Synergetic Intelligence - Human and AI Together”. A reception will follow. Admission is free, but for organizational reasons we expressly ask you to register at rais2@uni-bayreuth.de.

The research center is intended to contribute to scientific progress in this field and also provide impetus for teaching, knowledge transfer and science communication. It consists of the following interdisciplinary pillars, which are to be expanded in the future:
