The University Association of Bayreuth has held its scheduled elections for the Executive Board. The Board is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the Association. With nearly all members re-elected, the Executive Board stands for continuity and reliability – now complemented by fresh perspectives through newly elected board member Wolfram Brehm, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) for Upper Franconia Bayreuth.

The following members continue to serve on the Board: Dr Michael Hohl (Chair),
Professor Dr Stefan Leible (Deputy Chair, ex officio), Georg Riesner (Treasurer),
Dr Andreas Zippel (Secretary),Dr Stefan Arnold (Alumni Representative), Dr Harald Franz, Dr Michael Pfitzner, and Michael Möschel. Auditing duties remain with tax advisor Oliver Paulick.

“The continuity in the composition of the newly elected Board reflects the great commitment and strong ties our members have to the University. With Wolfram Brehm, we also welcome a strong voice from the regional business community – a significant signal for further strengthening the link between academia and industry,” said Professor Dr Stefan Leible, President of the University of Bayreuth.

The main goals for the new term include expanding the membership base – with the aim of growing from 660 to 1,000 members – and supporting the University Foundation. Under the motto “50 Years – 5 Million”, the Foundation is to be further strengthened financially. Another strategic priority for the University Association is technology transfer and targeted support for the planned Regional Innovation Centre (RIZ). In addition, the funding of specific projects at the University of Bayreuth remains a central concern. To achieve this, the Association continues to rely on the contributions and donations of its members.
