Following its rise to the 301-350 band in 2025, the University of Bayreuth has consolidated its position in the current THE WUR and further improved within this range, placing in the 301-325 band.
“The number of ranked universities has increased yet again. Against this backdrop, the fact that the University of Bayreuth has stabilised its position within its ranking group whilst still improving its standing fills us with joy and pride,” says University President Professor Dr. Stefan Leible.
The University of Bayreuth’s research quality is particularly highlighted in the latest THE WUR. With 72.4 out of a possible 100 points, the university has achieved a new record score in the category “Research Quality.” The university has also continued to strengthen its international outlook. In this category, too, it reached a new all-time high with 69.4 points.
In the areas of Teaching, Research Environment, and Industry, the University of Bayreuth’s long-term development confirms positive upward trends compared to its baseline values in 2023.
“The record scores in research quality and international outlook, together with the positive developments in the other assessed categories, demonstrate that we provide an outstanding environment for our students and researchers. Innovation, academic excellence, and international networking are promoted in equal measure at our university, extending their impact far beyond Bayreuth and Germany,” says Leible.
