Students from the University of Bayreuth accepted into the Bavarian Elite Academy

The new class of the Bavarian Elite Academy has been announced: 34 outstanding students from all disciplines at Bavarian universities and colleges will benefit from additional training. Four of them come from the University of Bayreuth.

Following a demanding three-stage application process, the 26th class of the Bavarian Elite Academy has now been selected. The 34 students come from twelve different colleges and universities in Bavaria. In September 2024, they will begin a two-year course of study on ethics-based leadership.

Jana Ebersberger is studying law at the University of Bayreuth. "I passed my first law exam in January 2024 and decided not to start my legal clerkship straight away. I also wanted to use this transitional phase to broaden my horizons beyond the legal field and continue my training in soft skills and leadership qualities. The BEA program is intensive, certainly challenging and offers particular development potential. I am looking forward to getting to know exciting and diverse personalities and sharpening my profile."

Leonard Harms is 22 years old and is in his sixth semester of Philosophy & Economics at the University of Bayreuth. "I am looking forward to the BEA as an opportunity to broaden my horizons and get to know interesting people, whereby the latter is not meant in the sense of networking and career, but rather due to a personal interest in the very diverse and all in their own way exciting participants of such programs. I also hope to be able to take on responsibility one day in my later professional life - learning to deal with this wisely at an early stage can only be an advantage."

Kilian Holle is 22 years old and is also studying Philosophy & Economics in his sixth semester at the University of Bayreuth. "I applied for the BEA because I hoped to become part of an enriching group of interesting and diverse personalities. I hope that the curriculum will provide me with an intensive and instructive time that will show me where and how I can best use my strengths in my future career."

Luzia Ram is 21 years old and is studying law with an additional economics course in her eighth semester at the University of Bayreuth. "I applied to the BEA because I am incredibly keen to experience this view outside my own nose and the key moments and encounters with others that this institution can make possible for participants! I am looking forward to meeting like-minded and interesting people from business, politics and society. For me, this will make the BEA a place of growth - on a personal and professional level. I'm looking forward to that!"

The training at the Bavarian Elite Academy comprises four attendance phases during the lecture-free period, with workshops, seminars and fireside evenings as well as an extensive mentoring program, project work and a two-week stay abroad. This paves the way to becoming a responsible leader. The focus is not on grades, credit points or the transfer of skills, but on the further development of the individual's personality. "Our scholarship holders come together and discuss issues of leadership, business, society and ethics in depth. The small interdisciplinary groups, the exciting seminar content, the foundation's diverse network and, last but not least, the high motivation of our students offer space for the intensive personal development of each individual participant," comments Andreas Ladda, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bavarian Elite Academy.

Application for the 27th year

Applications for the 27th class are possible from October 1, 2024 to December 15, 2024. If you would like to find out more in advance, you can take part in virtual information events.
