Your bachelor degree programme in Bayreuth.

We are pleased to see you are interested in the bachelor's programmes offered at the University of Bayreuth. Chances are your first few weeks in Bayreuth will be similar to the experience most new students have. You will be finding your way around our friendly campus in no time, and before you know it, you will be able to answer the question "Why study in Bayreuth?" as if it were your second home.

In many degree programmes, the bachelor's programme at the University of Bayreuth is characterised by a special subject structure: You can choose a minor right at the beginning of your studies, which will be fully integrated into your course of study.

The minors that can be chosen promote the interlinking of basic scientific knowledge and practice-related knowledge, or are geared towards broadening subject-specific competencies.

Please note: You do not have to apply for a minor specifically. You can indicate the combination subject you wish to take when you register for your respective bachelor's programme at the Student Administration Office of the University of Bayreuth.

In module studies, individual modules from bachelor's and master's programmes can be studied and completed with an examination. Further information and an overview of the modules offered can be found on the website of the Student Administration Office.

Virtual University

vhb

The Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb) is a network of Bavarian universities. It offers online courses as a supplement to face-to-face studies. Students of the University of Bayreuth can use the tutorial-supported courses of the vhb free of charge.
