“Open Day” at the Research Center for Society, Technology and Ecology in Africa (FZA) at the University of Bayreuth

On Wednesday, 14.05.2025, the Research Center Society, Technology and Ecology in Africa, FZA for short, literally opened its doors to all interested parties from 3 - 6 pm. The campus in Bayreuth has grown by an impressive building in record time and now offers the best conditions for researching the challenges of the 21st century in the fields of society, technology and ecology in Africa from Bayreuth together with a strong network of international partners.

Interested parties from the university, city and region, as well as the international guests who had already arrived for the cluster conference, had the opportunity to explore the building and get to grips with the research, the new technical possibilities, the architecture and the art designed to complement it.

A varied supporting program on the research topics of migration, conflicts, religious diversity, technologies and ecology in the African context awaits everyone at interactive stations. In addition to guided tours, exhibitions, hands-on activities and an author's reading, the focus was on the diverse opportunities for exchange and encounters, which are optimally supported by the architecture of the building.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the construction phase, the furnishing and the revitalization of the research building and made the “Open Day” an impressive experience. We wish all users of the building the best of research success and many inspiring encounters.
