PhD-Student (f/m/d) in Rechargeable Batteries

Your tasks:

In this position, you will work on the synthesis of inorganic and inorganic composite materials, which will be applied for various rechargeable batteries, including lithium-ion batteries. Previous expertise on the synthesis of inorganic materials and investigation onto the crystal structures can be helpful. It would be great to have some knowledge on electrochemistry background but this is not a required part. Students will be also asked to work with a number of other colleagues in other chairs and departments, so the communication of ideas and presentation skills should be sufficient.

Your profile:

You should have a master degree, exhibit proficiency in either German and/or English, and have expertise in the following fields:

  • Chemistry / Materials Science and Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Electrochemistry

The Bavarian Center for Battery Technology (BayBatt) bundles battery-specific expertise in physics and chemistry, material science and engineering, as well as information technology and economics as a supra-regional competence center at the Bayreuth location.

Its central task is the interdisciplinary research and development of battery storage systems at the interfaces of materials science, electrochemistry, engineering, information technology and economics, as well as university teaching in the field of battery storage systems.
