Battery Technology, Master of Science (M.Sc.)

Supplying our society with sustainable, non-climate-damaging energy is one of the great challenges of the 21st century. Today we assume that by 2030, global demand for batteries for electric vehicles, stationary storage, and consumer electronics will increase at least 14-fold. This enormous demand is leading to a massive expansion of production capacities throughout Europe and urgently requires highly qualified professionals who have the necessary battery know-how along the entire value chain. The engineering-oriented Bayreuth master's programme "Battery Technology" addresses the central issues of energy storage in an interdisciplinary way, and is training top professionals in the field of battery technology.

We seek to contribute to the success of the transition to green energy not only through outstanding research, but also with our excellent teaching. That is why we are looking forward to meeting outstanding applicants from Germany and abroad who will work with us on the next generation of batteries and their applications.
