"Dynamics of Social Media and their Social Impacts"
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Pfeffer, Chair of Computational Social Science and Big Data, Technische Universität München

Every day, billions of people worldwide use social media to access information and to network and exchange with others. At the same time, however, there is increasing evidence that these systems also generate negative dynamics, and fake news, polarization, and the spread of hate messages characterize the debate on social platforms. In this talk, we will discuss the socio-technical foundations of dynamics in social networks and possible solutions to limit their negative effects.

Organizer: Prof. Dr. Mirco Schönfeld
