Technical Assistant (m/f/d)
Your responsibilities:
- Support in the planning and execution of biochemical laboratory experiments
- Protein biochemistry tasks (purification and characterization with regard to stability, structure and function)
- General molecular biology and microbiology work (cloning, cultivation of bacteria, heterologous gene expression)
- Documentation using appropriate software
- User instruction, maintenance and operation of analysis and measuring devices
- General tasks as part of the organization of project-relevant laboratory operations, e.g. ordering chemicals, disposal, checking safety-relevant equipment (after instruction), contact person for equipment service and maintenance
Your profile:
- Successfully completed apprenticeship as a biological or chemical-technical assistant (m/f/d) or a comparable qualification as well as relevant professional experience (laboratory tasks)
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of molecular biology, protein biochemistry and structural biology methods
- General technical understanding and curiosity in testing methods (devices and experimental setups)
- Team spirit as well as initiative and the willingness to familiarize yourself with a wide range of activities and take responsibility in your own areas
- Good IT skills, ideally also with Linux
- Good knowledge of written and spoken German
- Good knowledge of English for communication in everyday laboratory work and for understanding technical documentation is an advantage
The salary is in accordance with the German Public Service salary scale (TV-L).
