Doctoral Research Assistant (m/f/d)

The position will be filled as soon as possible and is limited to three years (with possibility of extension). Salary is based on E 13 TV-L (75% position).

The chair of Marketing & Service Management (www.dlm.uni-bayreuth.de) is part of the Marketing & Services (MuSe) research area in the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Bayreuth and follows the interdisciplinary approach of MuSe. The Chair of Marketing & Service Management stands for four research fields:

  • Smart Service & Service Innovation
  • Transformative Service Research & Sustainability
  • Customer Participation & Co-Creation of Value and
  • Complaint Management & Service Recovery

Within these research fields we deal with marketing-specific questions of service management. Teaching takes place in the degree programs in business sciences and other interdisciplinary programs, especially in the Bachelor and Master degree programs in business administration and sports economics, as well as in the Master degree program in media culture and media management.

The position is limited in time according to the “Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz” and serves to further a scientific qualification (doctorate). The duration of the employment relationship depends on the legal and personal prerequisites. In all other respects, the employment requirements according to the “Bayerisches Hochschulinnovationsgesetz” apply.

Your tasks:

  • Carrying out research and practical projects, preparation of scientific publications (especially academic journals) in connection with the implementation of own research interests within the framework of the doctorate
  • Supervision of English- and German-language courses and theses
  • Support in the preparation of applications for third-party funding
  • Support for the setting up of the chair
  • Take over administrative and support tasks

 

Your profile:

  • Master degree with distinction, which entitles the holder to a doctorate, in business sciences (especially business administration), sports economics or related disciplines (e.g. psychology, business informatics)
  • Special interest in the subject of service management, especially in research in the above-mentioned research fields of the chair
  • Passion for empirical research and good knowledge of quantitative-empirical methods (ideally gained through empirical theses or research/practice projects)
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and motivation for organizational tasks
  • Very good English and German skills (spoken and written) (minimum B2-Level)
  • High communication skills and team spirit
  • Very high motivation and initiative, ability to work independently and structured, curiosity, commitment and flexibility
