Research Associate (m/f/d) with the possibility of a doctoral degree for studies on self-assembling proteins for nano and microstructured surface modifications


The position is initially limited for a period of three years and serves to promote a scientific qualification (PhD). The remuneration is based on salary group 13 TV-L.

In the frame of international cooperation, you will work on an interdisciplinary project positioned between protein modification, processing, and tissue scaffold engineering. Main objective of this study is to extend the protein self-assembly to the realm of surface modification in order to create nano- and microstructured protein patterns which are applicable in preparation cell arrays and micro tissue engineering.

Your profile:

  • Completed studies (master or diploma) in the field of polymer or biomedical engineering biochemistry, polymer chemistry or a related field with an excellent degree
  • Profound knowledge in biochemical methods or methods on polymer processing
  • Knowledge in surface processing is an advantage
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to work in a team, communication skills and the ability to work independently
