Return to press releases

University of Bayreuth, Press release No. 056/2020, 21 April 2020

Bayreuth law graduates have excellent chances on the job market. In the ranking of the journal WirtschaftsWoche, the University of Bayreuth has again taken 3rd place. Largely determining this ranking was information provided by the personnel managers of companies in Germany.

"WirtschaftsWoche-Hochschulranking 2020", published in the current issue no. 17, is based on a survey of 590 personnel managers of companies in Germany. They were asked to identify specifically which graduates of which universities stand out for their particularly high levels of competency. Here, the University of Bayreuth took an excellent third place in law, behind LMU Munich and the University of Heidelberg. It is thus once again the only small university in Germany to achieve a top position in the law university ranking of WirtschaftsWoche.

"The ranking again proves the great trust that companies in Germany place in our law graduates", explains Prof. Dr. Jörg Gundel, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth. "Most of our law students complete one of the supplementary degrees in the fields of economics and technology, which are unique in Germany, but at the same time complete their studies in quick time. Both of these factors contribute significantly to their outstanding employability in companies."

The Faculty of Law, Business & Economics is the largest faculty at the University of Bayreuth. It has taken out top positions in national and international rankings for years. These ranking results can provide prospective students with some much-needed orientation when choosing their place of study.
