Coronavirus testing station on campus

+++ The coronavirus testing station on the premises of the University of Bayreuth will be closed until the end of March 2021 estimated. During this time, no tests will be carried out on the campus.

If necessary, please contact the testing centre of Labor Dr. Pachmann near the Lohengrin-Therme in Bayreuth, or the coronavirus testing centre operated jointly by the City and District of Bayreuth in the Gemeinschaftshaus Aichig community centre on Kemnather Straße in Bayreuth. Information is available at https://corona.laborpachmann.de or at http://coronavirus.bayreuth.de +++

As part of the project "Safe and Secure University of Bayreuth", Labor Dr. Pachmann will be operating a coronavirus testing station on the premises of the University of Bayreuth in the 2020/21 winter semester. After prior registration by telephone, members of the University - employees and students - can be tested there for coronavirus infection. The coronavirus testing station is operated strictly in accordance with instructions from the RKI, WHO, federal and state governments, as well as the University of Bayreuth's own pandemic regulations and those of Labor Dr. Pachmann.

It is not a measure for individual testing without due cause, or for mass testing. Rather, it is intended to provide a local, voluntary test for people who are likely to be on campus and suspect having coronavirus symptoms, or who have had close contact with Covid-infected persons. Staff carrying out the testing are trained, highly-skilled employees of Labor Dr. Pachmann from Bayreuth. Appointments are scheduled by Gedikom GmbH of Bayreuth. The procedure provides for a short preliminary consultation on the symptoms, and for the appointment to be made in advance via the telephone number below. People with clear symptoms are advised to contact their family doctor by phone.

  • Symptoms consultation:
    On 0921 55 44 55 workdays from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. (for free appointments also possible for the same day) and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Appointment scheduling:
    On 0921 55 44 55 workdays from 1
7 a.m. to 8 a.m. (for free appointments also possible for the same day) and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Testing:
By appointment only. Open workdays from 9 a.m. to approx. 11 a.m.
  • Location:
The testing station is located on University campus between University Sport and Central University Administration.

Individual notification of the test results will be made within 24 hours exclusively via Labor Dr. Pachmann. This is a PCR test. The result is given in the form of an internationally recognized document.
The University is neither involved in the scheduling and processing of the tests nor in the passing on of test results. Until the results are communicated by the laboratory, the person concerned is prohibited from entering the University campus and its branch offices. In the event of a positive test, the laboratory will notify the competent authorities, who inform about the further procedure according to current regulations (e.g. quarantine). If the person concerned agrees, the University will be informed by the laboratory directly, which will enable much faster contact tracing.

Please note: For technical reasons, only persons having their main residence in Bavaria can currently be tested at the coronavirus testing station of the University of Bayreuth. International guests must be registered in Bavaria and have a German health insurance card.

All other persons are offered a test at the university as self-payers. Alternatively, the test stations of the Pachmann Laboratory or the city and district of Bayreuth can be used. Information is available at  corona.laborpachmann.de or at coronavirus.bayreuth.de.
