The relevant institutes and authorities currently consider the health risk COVID-19 poses to the general public in Germany to be 'high' and 'very high' for groups of risk (as of March 26, 2020). This assessment may change in the near future on the basis of new findings. For this reason, the University Governing Board is in continuous consultation with the authorities, the departments responsible for safety on campus, the University Medical Officer, and our International Office. The list of measures to be taken is immediately updated as needed.
We recommend that all members of the University of Bayreuth to obtain up-to-date information on a daily basis from the websites of the the Robert Koch Institute, the WHO, the Federal Foreign Office, and the Federal Ministry of Health. The Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety has set up a telephone hotline (phone +49 (0) 91 31/ 68 08 51 01).
We will contact you again soon to provide you with further information on how operations are affected at the University.
Please check the information on the coronavirus on the intranet.
