Faculty of Law, Business & Economics
As we move forward into an increasingly globalized future, transferable and universal skills are set to become more crucial than ever. Our faculty recognizes this and values the provision of a broader education – one which pushes the boundaries of traditional subject areas and gets students involved in research projects at an early stage.
The faculty brings together law, business and economics, while complementing them with innovative, interdisciplinary programmes of study such as Health Economics, Sport, Business & Law, Business Administration & Engineering and Philosophy & Economics. We also offer a German-taught law programme that includes specialist training in business or technology.
Living and Breathing Research
Our numerous interdisciplinary research groups are the result of close cooperation between the fields of law and economics, continually giving rise to brand new, intriguing possibilities and approaches to the subject matter. These groups actively organize various events such as conferences, conventions, and workshops on the University of Bayreuth campus, while the results of their research can be found published in many of the most renowned academic journals, books, and articles.
Making Students a Priority
The faculty has become a regular feature at the very top of the league tables. Time and again our students, but also our partners in the world of business, express how highly they rate the education we provide. University rankings show that all of our programmes of study boast above-average student satisfaction and services. It goes without saying that excellence in research and teaching should be accompanied by top-class facilities and the best possible learning environment for our students. Our well-organized Alumni Network provides valuable in-roads and insights into the outside world of business.
An International Network
The University of Bayreuth has an impressive worldwide network of more than 150 partner institutions. A well-established programme for guest scholars and researchers means that the University regularly plays host to some of the brightest minds on the worldwide academic scene.
