Research

Innovation & Consumer Protection refers to a new field of research emerging at the intersection of innovation research and consumer science.

Innovation primarily describes any creative activity for a business that involves the interaction of economic, legal, social, political, cultural, and technical conditions to establish market novelty. In contrast, consumer protection describes the reaction of a given environment to risks and other uncertain factors affecting the benefit of an innovation for users and consumers of new products and services or the benefit for society at large (producer, consumer, and the nation).

The tension between freedom and progress implied by an innovation and restrictions on the entrepreneur's freedom, such as consumer protection, includes a great many subjects of research.
