If you are considering a higher education career in research and teaching, it is definitely worth having a look at our current vacancies. With around 1,400 academic staff members (of which 241 are professors) and 900 members of the non-academic staff, the University of Bayreuth is the region’s largest employer.

Quality over Quantity

We are pleased that our job vacancies manage to catch the interest of so many top-notch applicants. This is not only due to our charming, communicative campus. As a medium-sized university, we are concentrating on constantly developing our high-quality infrastructure instead of focussing on growth. In doing so, we rely on our disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas that have allowed the University of Bayreuth to be counted among the best. In addition, thanks to our research, we are able to cover a considerable portion of our budget with external funding.

An excellent work environment awaits you

In addition, junior researchers profit from the support of the University of Bayreuth Graduate School. The Graduate School facilitates scientific exchange in the earliest stages of independent research and offers a range of transferable skills courses and additional teaching and training opportunities. We are dedicated to equal opportunities and actively support academic careers via coaching, mentoring, and “dual career support”, designed to helps couples and families achieve the best possible work-life balance.

It is also interesting to note that 201 junior researchers from the University of Bayreuth have been appointed as professors in Germany and abroad over the past 30 years. This goes to show that the University of Bayreuth is not a bad choice with regard to your future career.

We hope we can convince you too!
