Faculty of Cultural Studies
The European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities is a unique honour. The Central European University (CEU) has been awarding this accolade since 2011 for outstanding teaching in the humanities and social sciences.
To date it remains the first and only EU-wide award of its type, and the Faculty of Cultural Studies is proud to have an award winner in its ranks.
The recognition of outstanding teaching also extends to Philosophy & Economics, a joint enterprise with the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. Another cross-faculty programme that enjoys an excellent international reputation is Sport, Business and Law – a further example of seamless interdisciplinary work at a university that encourages great flexibility in the traditional boundaries between faculties.
Our faculty helps people to cross borders and boundaries – examples include ethnology and African studies. It is home to the renowned Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS), which is funded through the Excellence Initiative by the German federal and state governments. The Faculty of Cultural Studies also boasts award-winning programmes in the fields of education, religious studies, sociology, and history. Are you ready to break through your own boundaries?
