Broaden your horizons.
Studying in Bayreuth gives you an excellent opportunity to gain experience abroad and maybe even earn a dual degree awarded by two universities.
Our university is well-connected internationally and provides you with many chances to broaden your horizons by studying or taking part in an internship abroad. Our exchange programmes offer numerous ways to study abroad, whether in the EU or overseas. For instance, the Erasmus+ Programme enables our students to spend a portion of their studies at a foreign university within Europe. The Erasmus Programme is based on subject-specific cooperation agreements between individual institutes at the University of Bayreuth and corresponding departments at international universities. You can also spend a portion of your studies in the USA, Latin America, Canada, Asia, or Africa. Here too, the University of Bayreuth maintains numerous university partnerships that enable you to study abroad.
If you do not have sufficient funding to finance your stay in a foreign country, the International Office can give you information on applying for financial aid and grants. You can find out more in one of the numerous information sessions offered by the International Office at the beginning of each semester, and once you are further along in your planning, you can clear up any unanswered questions at a subject-specific advising session. This will give you a feel for what you need to keep in mind both prior to your departure and subsequent to your stay abroad. If you have any other questions, we would be happy to speak with you in person. To make an appointment, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
